This is the one you hear all the radio ads for. San Francisco-based Stub Hub is "the fan's ticket marketplace." It is very much the eBay of online ticket sales sites (despite the fact that eBay does have a fair to middling online ticket sales business itself). Like eBay, some StubHub tickets are sold auction style, with the tickets going to the highest bidder.
The point is that Stub Hub is no broker, but an intermediary service for hooking up fans and brokers looking to sell their extra tickets at fair market (or above) and fans looking to buy them.Company partners include AOL and the NFL, NBA, NCAA, and NHL. Since the dawn of the 21st century, StubHub ("dot com!") has been redefining the entire ticket resale market in a way that supports the fans, not the brokers or venues. The company was listed on Inc 500's 2006 list (Ranked #8) as one of the fastest growing private companies in the USA over the last 3 years.
