Watermelon Slim .&.the Workers will perform from 6 to 8 p.m. at The Chesterfield, 1225 Fourth St. The admission charge remains at $2. The concert was originally to be held at the Roth Fountain on the corner of Fourth and Virginia streets. Watermelon Slim .&.the Workers is the second-to-last concert.

Slated for Sept. 5 was Ruby Jane, a 13-year-old fiddler from Dallas, Texas. No longer. No word from promoters on why Ruby can't make the date, but Watermelon Slim .&.The Workers have been scheduled to perform instead. You shouldn't worry that Slim and his three backing musicians are a last-minute, no-talent.
