WMMR CELEBRATES 40th ANNIVERSARY WITH CONCERT IN CAMDEN tickets, In 1968 Philadelphia's WMMR made their radio debut launching a rock and roll format which has now lasted four decades placing them at the top of FM radio in Philadelphia as well as national notoriety. This past Sunday, in honor of this historic event ,WMMR celebrated this impressive accomplishment by holding an all day concert event at the Susquehanna Bank Center (formerly the Tweeter Center) in Camden, New Jersey. The gates opened at 10:00 A.M. to much fan fair and anticipation as rock fans. The MMR-B-Q Stone Temple Pilots WMMR B Q, The MMR-B-Q Chris and I were lucky enough to get backstage passes for WMMR's 40th Birthday concert this past Sunday. It was an amazing show.and being able to stand 10 feet from the bands didn't hurt either. Pierre.Robert doing a live interview backstage. ASHES dIVIDE. Stain'd. Stone Temple Pilots. My favorite photo of Scott Weiland. Posted by say hello. MMR-B-Q 40th Birthday Party On Sunday I went to the all day concert for 93.3 WMMR. It was at the Camden waterfront arena (which keeps changing names). Unfortunately I had a lawn ticket, so I got very wet! But I was right up on the railing the whole time, even managed to hold onto my spot for Stone Temple Pilots. Jealousy Curve opened the show. They're a local band that's just breaking into the scene, they were very good and a great choice to open. Another group of locals, Silvertide, was also very good. Airbourne. tickets. Concert-Going Yesterday's spectacular concert event celebrating the 40th birthday of Philly-favorite rock station WMMR was a rousing success. Eight bands-including The Hooters, Everclear, Staind, and headliners Stone Temple Pilots-played from 1 in the afternoon to 11 at night. Besides some unpleasant, but mercifully transient, weather, a good time seemed to be had by all. I am intrigued by the appeal of concerts. I mean, why do we go to them? Again and again we (myself included) deal with obnoxious crowds. Stone Temple Pilots WMMR B Q. Make-Up Monday: Scott Weiland Edition tickets, Another year, another WMMR birthday bash and another band fronted by Scott Weiland headlining the festival. It also rained again, but perhaps that was mere coincidence? This time ol' Scotty W performed with his slightly more famous band, The Stone Temple Pilots. All original members were present; the DeLeo brothers and what looked like the long lost Wilson brother on the skins. It felt right, but Velvet Revolver was somewhere in the back of everyone's mind (unless you were one of those loud-m. Stone Temple Pilots Reunion in Full Blast Stone Temple Pilots Reunion in Full Blast I'm sure that last week STP fans held their breath, while critics laughed, when Scott Weiland was once again sent to jail. However, he was released within the day, and fans could let out a huge sigh of relief knowing that the tour would go on. STP kicked off their extensive 65 plus date reunion tour at the ?Rock on the Range? festival on Saturday May 17 and then in Camden, NJ for Philly radio station WMMR's 40th anniversary show last night May 18.tickets. MMR-B-Q Show Review tickets, The show was a celebration for a local Philadelphia radio station, WMMR, not changing formats for 40 years.a milestone occasion in the business, especially with the way radio stations are bought and sold overnight. However, the show was more fitting for 1998 than 2008. The lineup included three local bands, Jealousy Curve, Silvertide, and The Hooters, along with national acts Airbourne, Ashes Divide, Everclear, Staind, and Stone Temple Pilots. I didn't arrive on time so I missed Jealousy. Stone Temple Pilots: Reunited and it feels so ?natural? tickets, Since Stone Temple Pilots disbanded five years ago, Scott Weiland (fronting Velvet Revolver), and the DeLeo brothers Robert and Dean (Army of Anyone, among other projects) have made plenty of noise on their own. As for drummer Eric Kretz, he's been helping others make noise. First with Bomb Shelter, the Los Angeles recording studio he opened in 2004, then with a gig as Musical Supervisor for the Henry Rollins Show on IFC, where he's recorded performances by everyone from Radiohead to Slayer.
