Sewanee, Days 6 & 7 Sunday morning, I had my manuscript conference with Daniel Anderson, author of Drunk in Sunlight .&.January Rain. We read through about 20 poems from my collection-in-progress, Brackish. Danny told me pretty much the same thing that I learned in workshop: the poems are well-crafted, but they lack a central idea, so to speak.
