I inadvertently bought a ticket to the very first [tos] preview, which turned out to be quite a thrill and a bit of an annoyance at the same time. The One Thing About Second Stage Theatre's Acquisition of the Helen Hayes Theatre No One's Discussing 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee Tickets, Below I'm pasting in the text of the press release, sent.ut on Thursday just in time for Friday reportage, announcing the Second Stage Theatre will be purchasing its first Broadway house - the Helen Hayes - and taking over its programming as of 2010. But there's one thing in this release, which is as sunny and optimistic as you'd expect, that is contained in the actual release. No, it's buried in Robin Pogrebin's coverage of the announcement in the New York Times: Second Stage will raise. Moving to the third stage Cheap 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee Tickets, As much as I love a Broadway show, and regular readers know how much I do love them, I also enjoy taking in some theatre off Broadway whenever I can. (And sometimes, it's just barely off Broadway). I regularly check out the listings at Playbill of upcoming off-Broadway shows, and a lot of them sound very tempting. Unfortunately, I haven't had much opportunity to sample the fare off Broadway because my time in New York has been limited. But I have been to a couple of plays - The Receptionist. Sprecher, Forlenza Birth Global Broadway Theater, I received this press release yesterday. Of course, Sprecher doesn't acknowledge in his bio that he's the reason the Variety Arts was demolished in favor of a horrible monstrosity of a condo, a tacit admission that the Off-Broadway commercial business model is completely dead, more or less. Anyway: BEN SPRECHER AND LOUISE FORLENZA FORM GLOBAL BROADWAY PRODUCTIONS INC. Perfect Harmony Photo/Jim Baldassare The only thing Perfect Harmony is missing is the perfect harmony: unfortunately, that MAJOR problem makes a lot of other MINOR issues into a bigger problem, and ultimately, makes the KEY of the whole show FLAT. (The musical puns, incidentally, are capitalized so as to better emphasize how an inconsistent tone can make something clever into something that's far too obvious.) Getting past all of that, though, I'm glad to see that Andrew Grosso is keeping this play, a favorite. Perfect Harmony I'm happy to announce more good news about Broadway Blessing. The Essentials, a New York-based company that collaboratively creates innovative theatre, will be appearing, along with the previously announced Lynn Redgrave, Boyd Gaines, Project Dance and others. I caught The Essentials? a cappella comedy Perfect Harmony last night at the Clurman and loved it. It's laugh-out-loud funny, and I'm not just saying that because they're going to be singing for us. If I hadn't liked it, I would just. Little House on Broadway? , In a reversal of Horace Greeley's 19th-century advice.".Go West.".the Little on the Prairie musical may be heading to the East. There's an interesting article in Playbill this morning about a new company, Global Broadway Productions, formed by the backers of the Little House on the Prairie musical that runs from July 26 to Oct. 5 at the Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis. Apparently the company, headed by Ben Sprecher and Louise Forlenza, plans to bring Little House on the Prairie to Broadway.
