My Oprah Moment This weekend, I've been able to indulge in a few of my favorite (new) things, such as? New Simpsons urban vinyl figurines, that Soulless Machine and I bought from ROBOTlove today.  They came in blind boxes, which is my favorite urban vinyl packaging gimmick. Basically, you buy them without knowing what's inside. Some figurines are more rare than others. For instance, Marge on the right is in 2 out of every 24 packages.  Comic Book Guy on the left is in 1 out of every 24 packages.  And darl. Theater.

Confessions of a Multitasker This morning, while reading blogs, checking my emails, drinking my morning caffeine and waking up, I came across this article on multitasking by novelist Walter Kirn, featured in The Atlantic.  I don't remember where I found it.  It's a fascinating article, because he ties together.our natural Attention Deficit, as he calls it, with our country's foreign policy, our culture's obsession with new gadgets, a car/boat hybrid he remembers as a child, and the way we envision our brains.  Like. 9 to 5.

Breaking Stuff Ahmanson Theatre Tickets, This weekend, the Soulless Machine and I are ripping carpet out in preparation for our new hardwood floors, which are going to be installed next week.  This is our first house project where the goal was to destroy things, rather than improve, protect, our beautify something.  I've learned that breaking stuff is fun. Our living room, early Saturday morning. Same living room, different angle, later that day. Our dining room, where all of our furniture and junk has to go.
