2008 Movies This is turning out to be quite a big year for ?must-see? movies in my opinion. There seems to be a plethora of geek-centric movies coming out this year compared to the relatively thin offerings in 2007. My list of ?Must See? and ?Must Own? films (not always the same) is getting rather lengthy compared to last year. So far, I've seen three films in the theater this year, the kid-friendly ?Horton Hears a Who? and ?Kung Fu Panda? and ?Iron Man? which I managed to see one week when my wife. Ticket.

New York Film Festival Gets A Little 'Class' For Opening Night Frost/Nixon tickets, The 2008 Cannes Palme d'Or winner.".The Class.".(.".Entre les Murs.".) has been selected to open the the 46 annual 2008 New York Film Festival which runs Sept. 26-Oct. 12 in the Big Apple. Of note to New Yorkers, NYFF will be held at the Ziegfeld Theater due to ongoing renovations at the event's traditional home, Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center, which is personally a lot better for us distance wise. Also playing during the fest is a showcase that will be held during the festival in tribute.

There's a 'Riot' going on Brian Grazer says that .".L.A. Riots.".Spike Lee's long-awaited look at the incendiary events that paralyzed Los Angeles for four terrifying days in 1992, is back on track. The movie, from an original script by WGA dissident John Ridley, could possibly begin shooting later this year.
